That all about me email

You know how once, twice…5 or 6 times a year you get an email like the one below…Well this year I have decided to save all my friends some time by posting it to my blog…If you want to respond (even if I do not know you) please do so as a comment and not an email…also do not forget to sign your name!

Welcome to the Winter 2005 edition of getting to know your friends. What you are supposed to do is copy (not forward) this entire e-mail and paste it onto a new e-mail that you'll send. 5 days

5 days...is how long my Father's friend was dead before anyone found him. He was last seen on Monday and found on Friday after the Police broke down his door...How sad! To be dead for so long before anyone knew/cared to look for you!

Please do not get the wrong idea. He lived alone on the NW side of DC. People were very fond of him and check in on him every few days...but he was old. How old??? No one really knows since he was born in Africa and does not have a birth certificate, but I would say he was in his late 80 even through the jet black/blue-black hair dye he used made him look 50ish. He was a great cook…when you went to see him you had better be hungry or at least act as if you were…Everything was always nice and spicy. He was a little hard to understand cause of the thick accent and deep voice, so what ever he offered I usually just said YES...and then he had any African movie you wanted or did not want to see as well.

In all it was still very sad...the world has lost one of the best chefs I know. Everyone must go sometime, so I hope and pray that he is at peace.

I was so looking forward to the fried dough smoothered in powder sugar and maybe strawberries! So I settled for a corndog.
